How We Help Home Health Care Services

Because Covenant Home Health Care is a Medicare certified home health agency, Medicare pays 100% of allowable charges for qualified beneficiaries. Covenant Home Health Care patients who qualify for home health have no out-of-pocket expenses.

Other Insurance: In addition, Covenant Home Health Care Medicaid, CareStar, and most major insurances.

For Medicare to cover home health services, Medicare requires patients to meet their definition of homebound. Homebound simply means that leaving the home requires a taxing effort, and therefore leaving the home occurs infrequently. It does not mean that the patient never leaves the home. It is expected that homebound patients would leave the home on occasion for medical appointments, religious services, and as opportunities may present themselves when visitors arrive.

Covenant Home Health Care visits the homes of each patient and assesses homebound criteria before care begins. This way, we can review your situation and make sure you will qualify for 100% Medicare payment or otherwise let you know your financial obligations up front. If you want home health care but do not meet all of Medicare’s criteria for payment, ask us about other payment options such as private pay.

Covenant Home Health Care will send certified nursing assistants to perform activities of daily living as needed. These include light meal preparation, laundry, etc. When Medicare is the payer, activities of daily living cannot be the sole reason for the plan of care. There must be a “skilled need,” meaning the plan of care must require the skills of a registered nurse or therapist periodically. If you have needs that do not have a skilled need, contact us about private duty arrangements.
